DID JUDGE SIBLEY REYNOLDS CRIMINALLY ABSCOND WITH MYRTLE BAKER’S PROPERTY?

Rumors have been circulating throughout Chilton County for years about the questionable, at best, property transaction involving Myrtle Baker’s property left to her by her late father.  Myrtle taught home economics at Clanton Marbury High and had no children of her own, so apparently ole Judge Sibley considered her an easy mark.

So the story goes; Baker was elderly and living alone on the over 100 acres of property  in a ramshackle house, when she heard someone snooping around and she allegedly shot her shotgun to scare off the trespasser.  There was no police record of the shooting as far as we know.  Someone was sent to pick her up and take her to the courthouse  where Judge Sibley Reynolds purportedly pulled one of his threatening routines, threatening to jail her but “if she signed the land paper she could go free”.  With no lawyer to intervene on her behalf, frail and possibly racked with dementia, Myrtle Baker signed the requested papers.

After that, Judge Reynolds pulled the same scam many others play out when they are seeking to steal from the elderly and infirmed; he tried to keep any other relatives away from Baker so he could sit on his golden hen until she died.  Reynolds we’re told, condemned Baker’s residence, possibly made himself her guardian and  pulled a tiny camper onto the property where he “kindly” let her live.  Reynolds brought her groceries himself (the better to keep relatives and interlopers away).  Baker survived or maybe not so well, on the canned mess;  Vienna sausages, sardines, pork and beans and saltines the good Judge provided for her nutrition. But of course, there was no telephone on the property after Reynolds condemned her home and moved  her into the teeny tiny camper, if she was sick and needed help she was SOL.   Allegedly after Baker fired that gunshot and was returned to the property, she never left the “Hill” (as the property was called) again.   Myrtle Baker died about 1 year after the alleged gunshot and  Judge Reynolds had her sign over the property.

Baker’s intent allegedly  never wavered over the decades; it was to leave the over 100 acres of real estate covered with timber that had NEVER BEEN CUT IN OVER 60 YEARS, to her first cousin; Alfrod Leon Wingard. Unfortunately Judge Reynolds, using and abusing his position as a judge, purportedly committed elderly abuse and absconded with the property; or maybe not…….

DID JUDGE SIBLEY REYNOLDS MAKE OVER $1 MILLION FOR HIMSELF FROM HAVING TIMBER CUT ON MYRTLE BAKER’S PROPERTY?

This is where is gets even more interesting:  After Baker died possibly by starvation or could it be poisoning since she only received nutrition from 1 source; Judge Sibley Reynolds, he immediately had the timber on the property cut.  Talk has been ongoing throughout the county for years about how well Sibley made out by cutting the timber on Baker’s property.  We know from inside sources that “he did REAL well”.  Figures thrown around by many that know state that Judge Reynolds made in excess of  $1,000,000 (one million dollars) from timber from the Baker property.  And that would have been some mighty fine timber; giant trees that had not been cut in over 60 years.

Even more interesting, Judge Reynolds did not put the land in own name; (he couldn’t have local commoners knowing what he had done could he?) he had the property allegedly put in the name of Prentis Martin, who was a Chilton County Game Warden at the time, someone who roamed the woods and back roads of the county and knew pretty much everything that was going on in the county.

Now we are not sure if the property is still in Martin’s name or if it has been slid over into Reynolds name or another friend or family member or possibly some other stooge paid off for the use of their name and/or social security number so that Judge Reynold’s hands appear clean.  How clean can Reynold’s hands be when Myrtle Baker was only about 65 years old at the time of her death and she had been sequestered away from friends and family by the one that profited from her death: Judge Sibley Reynolds?

This is just one instance of Reynolds allegedly using his position and power on the bench to cheat someone out of their property; how many others are out there? We have heard from dozens of informants about  threats coming from Reynolds to jail someone or take their children away in order for him to manipulate others into doing his bidding.

SIBLEY REYNOLDS HAS RULED THE BENCH AND THE COUNTY WITH A MOB LIKE MENTALITY FOR DECADES BY USING THREATS AGAINST OTHERS AND HE CONTINUES TO DO SO……

So who owns the Myrtle Baker estate now?

People have talked for years about the theft of the Myrtle Baker estate, but no one that we know of has stood up to Judge Sibley Reynolds and called FOUL!  This transaction and the manner in which Reynolds has treated the citizens of Chilton County as a commodity, something for he and his other courthouse buddies to profit from reeks of a criminal empire, one that gives reason for the FBI and Department of Justice to step in and as has been reported,  for them to remove hundreds of files from the Chilton County Courthouse.

From someone with inside knowledge:  “it is not what the FBI found when they took files from the Chilton County Courthouse, it is WHAT THEY DIDN’T FIND”.

****We can not validate the following, that this is the same Prentis Martin who was a former Game Warden in Chilton County, due to the spelling of Prentis.  We were told by another informant that Martin had been arrested recently in another state.  It would be interesting at best, if this is the same party in this link….Prentiss Martin pleads guilty to theft of Katrina Funds
